About BLACK COPPER
BLACK COPPER Arts, Inc. is a multidisciplinary contemporary cultural institution rooted in publishing, artist-centered programming, and cultural documentation. Founded in 2020 in New York City, we operate across four pillars: Publishing, Programs, BC Market, and Publishing Services.
Role Overview
The Content Creation Intern produces BLACK COPPER's social and digital content — executing approved concepts across Instagram and other platforms. This is a production role for someone who moves between writing and visual media with ease, and who understands that institutional content is a form of documentation, not promotion.
Responsibilities
Content production: execute approved posts using BLACK COPPER's design template library, adhering to platform and format specifications
Short-form video: film and edit short-form video content featuring artists and creatives from BC's network
Instagram features: write editorial-quality captions and features documenting artists' work, process, and studio practice
Brand consistency: ensure all content reflects BLACK COPPER's voice, visual language, and editorial standards
Calendar management: track post schedules, asset deadlines, and deliverable status across the content calendar
What We're Looking For
Strong visual instincts and demonstrated experience producing content for Instagram
Clear, disciplined writing — specifically, the ability to write in an institutional voice that is specific, grounded, and never promotional
Experience with Figma, CapCut, or similar production tools is a plus
An understanding of the difference between content that documents culture and content that performs for algorithms
