Her photography highlights the often-overlooked beauties and complexities of the Black experience—celebrating elements such as skin, texture, trauma, peace, love, and community. Carter seeks to challenge and reimagine conventional narratives through her lens, presenting Blackness as a realm of boundless creativity, confidence, and resilience. Her work embodies a reverence for the individuality and collective spirit of Black identity, offering a profound exploration of its depth and richness.
