ABOUT
BLACK COPPER invites you to celebrate the release of our fourth issue, Sacred Roots: Unveiling the Mystical Tapestry of Ancestry, an evening dedicated to art, storytelling, and collective memory.
This issue explores the intersections of ancestry, spirituality, and the mystical—tracing how inherited histories, both seen and unseen, continue to shape contemporary identity and cultural expression. Through essays, interviews, and visual narratives, Sacred Roots reflects on the enduring presence of ancestral knowledge, sacred symbols, and spiritual traditions across African, diasporic, Indigenous, and MENA communities.
The evening will feature a panel discussion with contributing artists, offering deeper insight into their practices and the role of memory, ritual, and imagination in their work. Join us for an intimate gathering with music, drinks, and small bites as we honor the voices and visions that bring this issue to life.
Featured artists include Delita Martin, Mayowa Nwadike, Tsoku Maela, Carla Jay Harris, Kipkemoi Henke, Nydia Blas, and Adama Delphine Fawundu.
We will also debut a special edition publication—our first book release—featuring works by renowned BIPOC writers, available exclusively at the event.
Come gather in celebration of lineage, spirit, and the stories that carry us forward.
